Brian
Maybe this post doesn't belong here but I cant find anywhere else to post it and I want to share it. I have been a member of SR for nearly 7 years and spent most of my time posting here until recently for many reasons. Being in recovery has more recently saved my ass again. So thanks for being here guys.
My Brother Brian was diagnosed with liver cancer and died two days later on the 13th March. It was a shock and has hot me a lot harder than I thought it would.
Anyway I lost the plot for a while but have surfaced now and whilst I could not get to his funeral my brother, sister and mother are going over to Ireland in June for a memorial.
I have decided I can have a memorial for him here and am just looking into it.
Been hard to listen to people complaining about there lot in meetings as I keep thinking you have no idea mate, just get on with it. Hope this passes as I came to love meetings and it all seems a bit unreal and pathetic at present.
Bye Brian.
Kevin

Heartfelt sympathy goes out to you, Kev. I was just thinking you haven't been around much. I'm so sorry your family has had to go through this.
Attending meetings means so much to you, and you'll be returning to them again I'm sure. I have no doubt that the way you're feeling now will pass - and your brother would want you to continue on your path.

So sorry for your loss.
I have used Virtual Memorials for a place where I can visit a loved one. I think the cost was only $50.00 for a forever place (initially it is free, but I think I had to pay to keep it up).
Hugs,

and kevbro, haul your ass back to those meetings,
share how to got though it without picking up,
how addiction and alcoholism kills, and wants us dead,
and just how precious life, and your life really is.
love you kevbro!
and thanks for being a huge part of my recovery journey
