Deventing & Off the Pity Pot, Thanks My SR Friends

As many of you know from my peeved bordering on pissed thread a few daze ago, I was upset over losing some possesions in my apartment due to it being totally redone due to my alcoholic behavior and neglect. I got lots of support on SR along with much needed reality checks and perspective

I have since focused my energy on all the positives I am opening myself to in my sobriety and applying my new found energy and drive to move forward. My place is coming together as I hope I am, one breath at a time. As some of you pointed out, what I lost were just things, what I am gaining or reclaiming is my life as it was meant to be lived.

As many of you know I am a long time practicing Buddhist and I guess I'll keep practicing until I get it right. :-) I was so focused on whatv happened and what might happen that I lost sight of now. In the now things are always right because now is what is. Brought up a which I would like to share with you so I will. Namaste dear SR family.

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” The Buddha

"Deventing" <--my new favorite word.

Thank you for the quote!

Chris Smither is a fave musician of mine, and I'm pretty sure he's Buddhist. He has a fabulous song about getting his car stolen called: Let It Go. Worth a listen, it always makes me laugh at how I grip tight to things & situations.

Got to let this go.
I don't know if I can do it, I'll try...
I'll let you know...Coulda, shoulda, woulda
how was I to know?
Nobody better say I told you so. All right, it's OK...
let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go...
