It is so worth the battle.

Gooooood morning , As I got up today and did some reading and meditating I was just reflecting on a day when it was tough. Everything in me was saying ahhhh go ahead and have a couple it will be alright. But it so would have not been alright maybe for that day or two or three times but soon enough I would be oblivious again and back in the hospital or grave.

The AA way of life is not a easy one. ( I cant speak for other programs but I have the feeling this post would relate to all.) But its all in the adventure in living it that is truly worth the price of admission. And hands down it is so much better than my previous exsistance. There is no real comparison. Today my life would not be worth a damn thing without my program of AA. With it have a chance to live a good life , what is left of it shall be the best of it. It is worth the battle no matter how hard or what stones are set in front of me day to day.

So each day I have two roads to pick from one of complete and utter insanity and death. And always remember that my next drunk really could be my last one. Or I could take the one that is sunny and has some really beautiful scenery. And is reasonably happy, peaceful, and useful. The choice is mine each and every day. So today is exactly why we say "one day at a time". I choose the the scenic route today. I hope to see all of you out there on it.:)

Smile cause sobriety looks good on YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Good love, Inda :ghug3:ham4

"It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do, for alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition." - Pg. 85 - Into Action

I think this is the topic I will use for tonights meeting. :)

Sun is shinning and birds are a chirpin its a beatiful day in C town. :)

Response to so worth the battle

I can relate to everything you said. And for 4 years, i had been making the wrong choice of roads. Just grateful that i didn't stay on that destructive path one day longer. I'm so glad i found this website tonight!! Thanx for the reminder: One day at a time!!
