1st night over...
Had my last drink night before last. Wow. Last night I experienced some of the worst nausea. Later, headache. I felt so crappy, I just decided to go to bed early. Grabbed some chamomile tea with some ginger, and some melatonin, and hoped for the best. I fell asleep fairly quickly, but woke up 4 hours later to the slightest little noise. Finally fell asleep another 4 hours later. Woke up hot and sweaty. Never thought this would be me.
Today, I can only tolerate bland food.
Hoping things get better.

Hey a fellow admitted computer nerd I can say after three weeks sober myself that yes things will get better if you stick with it! It took me slightly more than two weeks before I could get a reliable 8 hours of sleep, before that I spent 2-3 days at a time without any sleep and drinking a lot of coffee and redbull (I don't recommend that). I had the sweats and all that too, only in my case it was more being able to go to sleep that killed me more than anything. True, the first week I would wake up after only a few hours but now I find myself going to take a nap for only an hour or so and waking up 9 hours later I love it when that happens.
Hang in there, and welcome.

Welcome thanksw for posting. Keep posting and reading. The first few daze are tough detoxing and all. Might want to check with your doctor. I have quit on my own, with a doctor's help and in detox. Not going it alone really helps. My best to you.
Welcome!~ Yes, it gets better. I have had the terrible sweats and insomnia. This last time I did in hospital detox but still didn't sleep for three days. Finally did on my second day in.
You CAN do it ...it gets better just hang in there and make sure to keep hydrated.

Welcome to the family ComputerNerd - That is normal for the first days. I felt very much the same. As the others said, it all passed and I felt a bit better each day. Be patient with yourself - you're healing. You're going to do this, and have a new life!
