Welcome to SR!

Have you worked the steps of AA (all 12)? Have you read about AVRT?

Glad you are here!

Hi Nick

You'll find a lot of support here - and a few ideas too

There's many different approaches and methods of recovery around - here's some links to some of the main players...you may not be familiar with all of them:

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...formation.html

I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach. AVRT is quite popular

Welcome aboard
D

Welcome Nick - you're not alone, we all understand what you're going through.

It took me many tries, but I finally stopped for good. SR gave me so much hope and encouragement that I finally stopped trying to control my drinking & gave it up completely. Please keep reading & posting. We want to help - don't give up.

Using SR is a good tool to stay sober but you will need to learn how to stay sober on your own. Dealing with urges is really hard to do but if you can get through it then time will make it easier.

(((Nick))) - Welcome to SR! This site has been a huge part of my recovery, but we often need some f2f support, too.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Welcome Nick!

It can be hard to break the cycle once we're in it again. I got a lot of inspiration from this forum that helped me get motivated to stop drinking again after I relapsed. I think any kind of program or counseling can help, but the most important thing for me was making a commitment that I would do "whatever it takes" .......

Glad you're here - none of us can do this without support!

Hi Nick,

I'm new to this but SR has been a pillar of strength for me. Reading and posting keeps me preoccupied and reinforces my decision for change. The people here are full of support and encouragement. This place is a true blessing. I'll be pulling for you. There are lots of people here with helpful ideas and resources to help you stay on track.
