Backslid, starting over
Backslid, starting over
Hi all. This is my first post. I'm starting over at day 1 today. I had 14 months of continuous sobriety which ended in November '11. The last 4 months has been a battle with booze again. I go three or four days and drink again. Losing all that sober time has been a blow to my recovery, but I am determined to not cave after a few days this time. I don't have a lot of time to attend AA meetings right now as my job demands a lot of my time.
I'm hoping to meet some new sober friends here, so feel free to reply or shoot me a private message. Have a great day all!

Welcome, Blowfish. Glad you're here. I know that feeling of getting some sober time and then drinking it all away. You're in good company! There is a lot of support here. I hope you find what you need.
Thanks for all the fast replies all! After reading some other posts it made me really glad to be back here. I'm not an expert on many things, but I am totally an expert on my own experience and I'm really glad I didn't let it get completely out of control again. I'm not having any withdrawal and consider myself damn lucky for that!

Welcome back home.
As a person who has relapsed I hate the start date , I truly believe its not day 1 again because you learned far to much in those 14 months. Just numbers.
Good love, Inda

Well done on day 1, keep it going.
It's a drag to have to sober up every few months/years. Sometimes it took many months to make my decision to stop again stick for very long before drinking again. Hope after 4 months you now can keep this going.
Really was confusing to me why having stopped before I had soooo much trouble stopping again, and wouldn't stay stopped, again. People who didn't understand thought I had a problem I couldn't control ultimately. But they only had their observations of what I actually did do to go on, and couldn't grasp the meaning or importance of my intentions, which were flawless.

Thanks for all the support! Day 2 now and staying busy. It sucks because I'm trying to find a new apartment quickly (lease ends in May) while working full time. I've been living in this 3 BR house for a few months now ( I tookover on the lease for someone that left) and one roommate is a complete A-hole. The other roommate is a real nice guy, but he's unemployed and uses. So between the two of them this is a terriible situation.
But yeah, I'm confident I'll find a place and move on. I really need a 1 BR and they are very expensive where I live. I'll keep you guys posted on the situation. Have a great day!
