Thanks for all the words of wisdom and encouragement.... I am here sittin wondering how did I manage to reach this dark place... And how to get my life back... I look a mess and feel a mess... I wish this on no one...:c020:

For me, I want everything fixed NOW. Like yesterday. It can't be. I have been praying, been to a meeting and talking to my sponsor.

She tells me to put one foot in front of the other and try to do the next right thing.

It is so hard though.

there's an AA meeting there tomorrow. the phone number is an answering service, not sure if it's a live person or not, but try to call and just talk to a voice.

does your counselor know you are drinking? are you honest with them? it's a beginning.

try calling. i don't know what time it is there, but try. you aren't alone anymore.

I havent seen him in weeks.. He's been so stretched, we cancelled couple sessions. I gonna call him today tho to resume sessions..

I know a way you can fix that....I've been to that place before.

I'll try ANYTHING now.... This is bigger than me...

Go to an AA meeting...Find some people with years of sobriety and do what they did....Took me out of that hopeless...dark place...I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for you.

By the way...They'll fix that broken spirit for you at no extra charge.

hey ovrock, i feel your pain, i was exactly the same, you dont need to suffer like that anymore though , heres what ya do, go to a meeting, get a sponsor, pick up a BB, hit steps 1-3 asap, and your spirit WILL come alive and you'll be grinning from ear to ear very soon i assure you, get it done...if i can do it anyone can!

Your First AA Meeting<

Before you know it you'll be one of the chosen few sober people on Tortola...I know there aren't many.

And don't forget The Doctor's Opinion...That will explain to you why you drink like you do...

Lots of good advice here, ovrock. I've been where you are and I know those feelings well. The alcohol only makes them worse. All you can do is keep trying. The AA rooms are full of people who have done the same thing you have. There are people in my group who have years of going in and out of the rooms before finally getting sober for good. They are an inspiration to me because that was me too ... in and out, in and back out, in and back out again ... I can tell you that this time, it's finally sticking. And it's an awesome feeling.

You can get there, I know you can. The only thing that will keep you from getting there is giving into the despair. Get yourself to a meeting, grab onto the hope that those folks offer, and get busy. You will feel so much better about yourself. You CAN conquer this thing. Please don't give up.

I can totally relate OVRock, here is one of my posts/poems on this exact subject from 2009... Life can be so much better if you put everything you have in you into getting sober & your recovery program. Cheers ~NB
