Hello from the UK
Hello from the UK
Hello,
Please forgive me if I sound a little silly,
Is this forum mainly full of members from the US or are there any UK members on here too?
Not that it matters I might add as we are all aiming for the same goal.
This is now my 2nd post, I am a 32 year old male who is married with 3 young children, I have been drinking far too much for far too long and I've decided this morning to stop drinking, I googled for a help forum and found this place, I run my own business and the stress of it is the excuse I use for my drinking, as of today I've removed alcohol from my nightly plan to deal with stress and I'm looking for something better to replace it.
Any ideas would be grateful.
Here is to a long sober period ahead for us all.
Thanks in advance,
Bruno.

Yes I have, but unsuccessfully unfortunately. Any excuse to knock me back off the rails was good enough.
I have never joined a forum like this though until today.
So here goes
Hi Bruno,
I used work stress as an excuse to drink. Then I drank myself out of the job and I found a new excuse to drink: I was unemployed. Then I drank because I ran up too much debt. It didnt matter what my situation was because I was an alcoholic and I would always have a reason to drink. 35 days in rehab helped me break the cycle.

How do you deal with the stress now?
You are actually like 10 minutes away from me so a lot closer than most people on here! Nice to meet you
And Sapling, If you mean Newcastle Brown Ale, it's the wrong Newcastle...and I remember the very early days when it only took one of those to get me drunk!
