Powerless over fridge

I got home from an interesting meeting, which is another story. My fridge was making clicking sounds this morning. Got home around 2:50, clicking, so I decided to check out the freezer as I've had food appear to have defrosted then refrozen since I moved here. My ice cream was looking a little soupy, my ice pops not so frozen. Thank goodness I'm not drinking, I wouldn't own these now!

Went to let the office staff know at 3:30. Even though I mentioned it on January 5, February 5, & on March 5 when I paid rent. By 5:00, no one had shown up, called and the office was closed, so I called their emergency number and left a message. Maintenance showed AT 5:30 and tried telling me it's all normal. Ice cream soup, defrosted and runny popsickles, and defrosted OJ is NOT normal.

So, I'm video-taping it, but the volume isn't so great. I hear the clicks, it's the freezer turning on then off....Fridge temp was 37, now it's about 44. Milk will be thrown out. Not sure what I can salvage much, not sure if I need to put the food in a cooler, but that is being bleached now (oops! funny how I let stuff go while drinking).

Because I am sober, I can address all of this, even with cramps and a messy apartment due to working and not being home much this week! By tomorrow, a clean apartment, and a walk to the office when they open. I'm certain I can bring something nasty to their office. Anyone want some pork chops for dinner? I can't save any.... A saving grace may be those Asian pops I hadn't thrown out, they are in plastic container things and should be liquid by morning. Glad they didn't get thrown out!

In my past, I'd have been angry or would be in tears, or both by now....

It's so good to deal with life's issues sober isn't Sugarbear? I love that.

On another note, since you're renting it is of course the landlords responsibility that you have a working fridge...have you taken the bottom vent cover out and vaccummed everything really good? Maybe that could help. Sometimes they get lots of pet hair & dust in/under the compressor, etc.

I don't believe it has been cleaned since before I moved here! I can't move it. they had just replaced the original water heater, which possibly could have blown up by now....there had been a fire in it at one point, it's all new as of 2/24/2012....

I'll be on this, the clicking is rather annoying! the video tape is actually quite funny. I wish I could post it, but having a hard time getting it to You Tube...

Sorry for your frustration, sugar. It's amazing how we think drinking calms us down, but it ends up doing the opposite. Glad you are clear headed and in control to deal with this nonsense.

My longest video has the ice cream soup on it. For what it's worth, I'm learning about you tube, finally! I guess the tags are how people find videos!

Thanks for the well wishes. I don't think the food will last until Monday, when the maintenance guy shows back here!
