Bad BAD day #5.
Anxiety is through the roof. We are shaving my grandmothers head tonight, because she is loosing it in handfuls. I know I am a chronic alcoholic, but this withdrawl is the worst I have ever had. I just wanted to vent because I feel absolutely horrible. Thanks.

Can you hit a meeting today Dominica?...They may be running extra ones in your area today...Might be good to be around some sober people..If not...Just hang in there...Drinking won't make anything better...Just try and keep moving forward...

When I am into self, myself, me, self-centeredness,
selfishness, it was suggested that in order to forget
about my own problems then I should go help some-
one. Sooooo, while I knew meetings were important
to me for my own recovery, i followed in my sponsors
footsteps and baked for all my meetings.
You'd be surprised how people enjoy having a little
something to go along with their cup of coffee. A cookie,
piece of cake, anything.
As a mom with 2 little ones at the time, I got them
off to school then i had all this time till it was time
to pick them up. So, i baked and went to my many
different meetings each day to give me variety and
that got me out of sitting around the house feeling
sorry for myself or sitting on my pity pot.
It worked because it kept me sober a many one days
at a time for 21 yrs.

I hope you can manage to stick it out, Dom. You are having a very stressful day but you need to be sober for your grandmother, she needs your support right now. Imagine how good you will feel knowing that you were there for her, think how happy it will make her feel to know you're OK.
