Holly7 03-15-2012 12:30 PM

Welcome!!! You are in the right place if you want help with quitting. It's important to take one day at a time. I'm sorry you are feeling like this today. It will get better.

Head012 03-15-2012 12:34 PM

Thank You. I been reading on here all day. So many good stories of how people are doing it.

Hevyn 03-15-2012 12:34 PM

Head012 - Glad you are here. Holly is right, it will get better as you go along - don't get discouraged. When you've been drinking for a long time, it might be good to get a doctor's advice when stopping.

There are many people here who know just how you're feeling. You can have a whole new life - we're here to help.

Holly7 03-15-2012 12:35 PM

Yeah. This forum has helped me alot. Are you open to going to an AA meeting? It helped me.

Sapling 03-15-2012 12:40 PM

Welcome Head012...Glad you found the place...Yeah if you can talk with a doctor they can make detoxing a lot easier for you...Save you from going through the misery of withdrawals on your own...Which can also be dangerous...But there are ways to stop...If you're ready and you're willing to put in a little work for it...

Head012 03-15-2012 12:40 PM

I am to sick to get out of the bed. I am going tomorrow night.

Head012 03-15-2012 12:42 PM

I am broke with no insurance. Not making excuses just trying to get through today.

Take a look at this site in case you need it..It has a number for AA on there as well as Salvation Army for low cost detox...Maybe some others...Do some research..You have a phone?

Alcohol Treatment Centers Virginia Beach - Alcoholic Recovery Centers Virginia Beach, VA - Alcohol Detox Centers Virginia Beach, VA

Very glad you've made this decision, Head - you don't have to live that way anymore.

Head012 03-15-2012 01:03 PM

thank you. Yes i have a phone and am looking at that site.

Sapling 03-15-2012 01:04 PM

You da man...

I could always afford to get drunk but I couldn't afford to get sober.

I would try AA, maybe you can do this on your own but I couldn't.

All the best.

Welcome to SR Head012

Sorry you feel so ill.

Many areas of the US now have free or low cost clinics too for people to access a Dr - you might like to check this out too:

Free/Low-Cost/Sliding-Scale Clinics

You'll find a lot of support here - this place really helped me turn my life around.
Good to have you with us :)

Congrats on making a great decision, really hope you went to see a doctor or a detox center, seems like you are really sick if you cant get out of bed. Keep us updated on your status! Goodluck!

Good luck . I found the nausea took afew days and things seemed much better for a time . It gets bouncy but stay with it.
You can only feel better in the long run.
