Need a pep talk!

So it's kind of been the Monday from hell. Long story short, woke up to a backed-up sewer. After getting it snaked and scoped found out we have a 10 foot bow in our sewer line which basically means it's just holding water. Repair costs are going to be anywhere from $4,000-$8,000. This would normally be a huge trigger for me to start drinking. I have been holding strong for several hours but totally stressing about my financial situation and could really use some words of encouragement right about now.

I have to get through this without a drink or 10!

I know you all will keep me on track.

so how will drinking help you unclogg the sewer line? Maybe spend the money on a shuffle instead? Just saying. I always ask in situations like this: how would drinking help and usually the answer is it does not so I move on to another plan.....

Sapling & SASA are right, Luv. Once I figured out that getting wasted did nothing but give me one more problem to deal with, I stopped relying on it to see me through. It was never helpful - always destructive. The disappointment & remorse you'd feel would not be worth it. We know you're not going to pick up!

Getting through this without a drink will make you stronger and help you deal with future problems in a similar, sober way.

Thanks everyone! You all are correct, drinking is not going to fix the problem.

Love my SR support!

That's a real bummer, sorry to hear about it.

I've found since I got sober that even big problems aren't as colossal and devastating as they were when I was drinking. Things just have a way of working themselves out when you dont have the haze of alcohol to cloud your perspective.

Good luck!
