No...You don't have insurance I take it....I guess you could call them...Tell them what's going on...What you need...Ask them..It's just a dangerous thing to try and do on you own..I don't want to see something bad happen to you....I'll be here if you want to call...I ain't going anywhere...What about your wife's doctor?...Could be another option..

Pbody...is there a charity hospital near you? Even if there isn't, a regular hospital can't turn you away even if you don't have insurance. You should seek help as soon as your wife gets home. If you call an AA hotline, they can at least talk to you and keep you calm..... breathe deeply and slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth. Hang on...... we know how you are feeling. It will be okay....trust us....just remain calm.

Hi PBODY
If you don't go to the ER tonight, a lot of places have free or low cost clinics now - might be another option.
Free/Low-Cost/Sliding-Scale Clinics
I don't know what meds you might be given - noone here does - that would depend on your situation and your Doctors assessment

I wanted to get well in one day, too, but it didn't happen like that. I had to stay stopped first. Keep reading the big book, listen to some speaker tapes ( XA-Speakers - The lights are on! has speakers from all kinds of programs) and relax.
Give your body some time to heal. the big book even states that the newcomer needs a clear mind.
Get to a meeting and since you are so adamant on getting sober, tell them you need to get a sponsor to guide you through the steps as soon as possible. Someone there can help you.
The steps are the program, not the meetings. But first, detox safely so you can be there for your family. That means giving time to get the alcohol out of you, you are more toxic than you realize. See a doctor, if you have one or get to your campus health center.
Slow yourself down, you're going to get through this!
Clarence S. was the youngest of the original AAer's. Listen to his tape on xa speakers. Try Dr. Paul O. as he will give you a laugh. There are others, too.
We didn't get to this staying stopped point in one day, we won't heal in one day. Breathe, meditate (what? sit still and be quiet?? well, if that isn't possible, you really need to stop that 4th step until you have a sponsor to share that 5th step with---that 5th step can help you with the relief you need, then move on). sitting still and meditating takes practice.
First things first. Detox safely. WE NEED you here!
Hugs,
