Church and Recovery

After escaping the church at 15, in sobriety I drove my parents to mass almost every Sunday for 7 years when driving became difficult for them. They liked it and it gave us a chance to hang out. The service didn't mean anything to me.
With some it registers and I've no opinion on that. Though I haven't noticed church attending people in recovery enjoying any identifiable general advantage over those who don't go at all.
