Getting Through The Hard Times Sober

Today, although I sometimes don't struggle as much, is one of those days that I have to just remind myself that I can get through situations without using and drinking. I know in my heart that I can no matter how I am feeling at this very moment, I know this feeling will not last forever.

Just For Today .. One Day At A Time

We will Survive!~~~

All the best.

Feelings do not define us. They have no power over us, unless we allow it. Stay strong, tomorrow's a new day

You've made great progress in the time I've known you Vic, though I know there have been some ups and downs and hard things to deal with. It does pass and I think each time you let it, you become more skilled at it and gain something more.

Thanks everyone it didn't last that long!~~~

I remember how them things lasted sometimes for weeks. Glad it slows down as long as I don't get in the way of things...

Really? Ca-mon......

I had some faaaabulous days when I was drinking. (not all of them, obviously ) and I've had some reeeeally crappy days in sobriety. I'd don't think I'd trade a good drunk day for a bad sober day right now......but I can't get with that one-liner.

The deal now though is that I've got a set of sober-tools to use to get through those rough times....and when I'm connected, and sober, and not living my life for my eternal gratification........i've got a pretty darn good chance of getting out of those rough patches without getting too bloody and I can get right back to the business of growing again.

That is just a expression that people in AA use a lot, I personally never believed it to be really honest, I used to say it when I felt I had to fit in. That was my problem in the first place I always had to feel as if I belonged...
