Be thankful if you have AA
I'm on day 46 sober, day 2.75 w/out nicotine.
I'm doing well ...considering, I'm doing it alone w/SR & God.
I hid my addiction to both from everyone, only drank/smoked at home. My husband continues to do both so I feel quite lonely sometimes. Noone face to face to share my accomplishments.
That's why SR is so important to me. You guys are awesome.
I wish I lived in a bigger town that I could attend AA. It would be nice to have " real" conversations w/ people who understand.
My point is...Be thankful if you have AA or another f2f group you can share with. Don't take it for granted & don't be scared to try. I went a decade ago & enjoyed it.
Ive had ups & downs, but more way more good days than bad. If I DO ever feel I may relapse, I WILL go to AA ( Sapling)
I don't want to start a debate about whether to go or not.
Just want to share with someone besides God.

Congratulations!!! 46 days!! Wow! And all on your own! That's wonderful! We all have different programs or methods to sobriety - some AA, some AVRT, some Lifering, some SMART, and some all on their own. So glad to read your post!

I love this PCL....
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.
You know...There was a great post yesterday by a member here that was traveling three hours to get to a meeting...I think he was going to get a sponsor there...There are ways to do anything.....If you are willing to do it.

I'm not downplaying SR, at all. I wouldn't be sober without it! You have kept me sane & away from alcohol. So far, it has worked for me.
I think I'm having a pity party b/c of nicotine withdrawal. But I'm not giving up.
I will win this war!!!

That one is tricky. I have talked to my husband, mother, and GOD. I know it's not the optimal idea. I know it's not the exact way it should be.
Like I said I'm not debating going to AA, I will if need be.
My resolve is pretty strong, don't really have cravings, don't miss it.
I see it clearly for what it is. ( Call it divine intervention)
I use what tools I have & have worked it well, IMHO.

You know what's nice about AA PCL?.....It's there if you feel like you need it....divine intervention?....I think prayers from other people got me into AA...I was too sick to pray for myself. I call it Grace...A free gift.

I know Sapling, in my short 6 weeks of sobriety, I feel like a new human being. One, I actually like, when I look in the mirror.
That's saying alot from the suicidal loner I was less than 2 months ago.
I laugh now. I don't stress like I used to.
Life feels so good.
And to think I was trying to run away from this?
Alcohol had me soooo deceived.
Thank God my eyes were opened.
