What will it take to make me stop?
Admitting I CAN'T KEEP ME SOBER AND HAPPY helped me get started. Working the AA program (ie....not "going to meetings" but actually working the program) helped even more. Admitting I couldn't figure it out AND do it on my own was tough.....thankfully, I got a lot of pushes in the right direction.
I have some wonderful news for you. Once you quit drinking there is a very high possibility that your anxiety & panic attacks will greatly lesson for you.
I had major anxiety for many years & found that my anxiety almost went away (not general anxiety... thats always there ;-).
Some of my worst anxiety & panic attacks were the day after drinking.
All of the best & keep posting.

Drinking made my anxiety much worse. Even after being sober for a couple of months, the anxiety and depression can be tough. I finally had to go to a mental wellness program and have my meds adjusted.
For many, the anxiety will subside on its own after time. For some, extra help is needed.
God bless.
