Why SR is a Utopia

Of all the zones in my world, there is literally none where I am so sure the inhabitants have my best interests in mind.

If I'm feeling strained, someone is here. If I'm feeling confident, someone applauds.

It is heartbreakingly beautiful to know that I came home in a desperate panic (only six days sober and a world class drama day) and people really care about what I'm going through.

And I make sure to share my love with others too.

Utopia. A community where we all have each other's best interests in mind.

Thank you SR.

Thank you Dee and company (some of the best people I've ever known)

Thanks back atcha Missy - and everyone - for help making this place what it is :)

I think you've identified something really fundamental...this is a place where people - people I've never met 'in person' & probably never will - have me and my best interests at heart, and I theirs.

That's pretty special :)

Always on your side, Friend.

Missy, I agree with you completely. When I came here I felt a huge sense of relief - I was home. :) So happy you feel the same, & thanks for all that you've contributed so far.

We all share the same pain and experiences. I really want you to get the peace and serenity in your life that I have.

katrinka 02-24-2012 06:42 PM

Agreed!

http://www.mazeguy.net/happy/thumbsup.gif I agree Missy. SR is playing a big part in my wellness journey also.

I believe I have received more insight into recovering from alcohol/drug addiction here at SR than all of the other recovery programs, meetings, groups and therapy sessions I have participated in.

Great post Missy. Spot on

Like Sapling, I wish I'd found SR in the beginning of my journey. I found SR 5 months in and felt like I'd hit the jackpot - I can not even begin to measure the boost and healing that SR, and the members of this site, has given me....a true blessing it is :)

M7. What you are growing is a powerful force.

I love that SR is a safe and welcoming space for us all.

coffeenut 02-25-2012 06:21 AM

So agree. Do believe SR saved my life. Taught me how to grow sober.

gaffo 02-25-2012 06:36 AM

YES I agree with all of the above and I would add that this is one of the most beautiful uses of the internet--to harness our better angels. It is so much more than porn, violence, advertising and other silliness.

I love it here too. It is such a safe haven. So proud of you for how well you are doing and for sharing your journey with us. :)

I don't think I've seen SR folks more eloquently nor accurately described as this, ever. Missy, that's truly a spot on definition/description of what this site and it's population is to so many of us.

This is a pretty cool place. It's definitely played a role in helping me stay sober.
