2 days

I am two days sober and am grumpy as hell! I am having trouble sleeping and my head seems fuzzy. Just wondering, when does this clear up? I am glad I am going through this now as I don't have to drive anywhere until monday and I am scared to drive because of this freaky feeling in my head. Funny how the drunken buzz never bothered me, but this scares the hell out of me!

I am on my way to getting healthy and looking forward to healing my body, mind and soul. I know there is a better life out there, I just need to get there.

I go back to the dr. in two weeks, she gave me a prescription called neurontin to take for anxiety as she says benzos are evil and actually cause cravings for alcohol. So far, I have only taken them the first night.

So, any thoughts on how long this thing takes?

Hey there TG.

Say if you started a diet today and your goal is to lose 30 pounds...

Just because you started the diet doesn't mean you'll lose 30 pounds today.

Hang in there, take pride and accomplishment in the little things :)

Tammy, are you going to AA meetings?

All the best.

It gets much easier after the first few days, at least it did for me.

It takes a little while, Tammy - at least it did for me :)
Stick with it!

Tammy - What you're feeling is perfectly normal. I was foggy/fuzzy for a few weeks, but I had been drinking every day, all day. Give yourself chance to heal - you're doing great.

that foggy head feeling went away in less than a week for me. otherwise, living sober took about a month to start clicking. you're breaking habits and routines that were positively reinforced by alcohol and replacing them with new habits and routines that are not centered around alcohol. in between the two there is a gap. a sometimes boring, antsy, grasping time. but it will fade away.
