a new life and 2 weeks today
Well i made it 14 days !!! physically im not even craving a drink anymore. Im sleeping better and have much more energy. AA has been helping me so much i couldnt do it without the support. If anyone has been reading my other posts ive been going through turmoil in my relationship life, but even through all that stress and hurt ive managed to stay away from the bottle. I just keep telling myself what my sponsor told me 'losing a relationship is going to hurt sober or drunk so why be drunk, it could affect more than just you. Your job, your friends, and your family. The pain of loss will get less and less, plus you have all of us here to help you (my close AA friends)'. I also just moved into a new apartment this weekend and my mom gave me a housewarming gift, a needle point in a frame with the serenity prayer on it. I mounted it right next to the front door so i see it every time i go out. Im so happy to have gotten that gift from her.
Happy Monday everyone, hope all is well.

Congrats on 2 weeks! I’m at 11 days today
I’m not sure what has been going on with your relationship troubles, but those sort of issues have lead me to drink in the past. Your sponsor couldn’t be more right. No matter what is going on, you only have the power to control yourself- not the other person. The best thing you can do is to work on building your inner strength & peace. However hurtful the situation may be, hopefully you can turn it into a learning experience and grow from it, whichever way it pans out. Just keep on improving yourself.
