Hello Everyone
Hi, I'm not new to this roller coaster ride of addiction.I have been sober for only 7 days now, but this time I must commit to staying sober.Coming from a family that has owned two bars and my Marine Corps background, I've had some very high hurdles to overcome.I want my life back and will do whatever it takes to succeed this time.WIth the help of all of you and your valuable knowledge on these topics plus my faith in a higher power I believe that I'll have a better chance this time.I was amazed when I found this very helpful website,I was just typing into Google and it brought me right here as if I was directed here someway.Anyway I look forward to meeting new friends and working with you all from this moment on,If there is anything that I can help anyone with please just contact me.We are all not alone in this world,we all need the friendship and support of anyone serious about getting sober and staying that way.
Best Regards,
Jessy59

Welcome, Jessy, I felt like I was 'coming home' when I found this website, too. I can hear the strength and determination in your words, and I think you will do just fine on your journey. As in anything else that requires personal growth and change, the best indicator for success is desire. Keep posting, we are here for you.
Welcome Jessy, I am a newcomer too, I failed first time round giving up drink, but this site helps by being there 24/7
There is a lot of great info, and the off topic things are fun too
The great thing is nobody is drunk, so you have intelligent conversations!

Welcome Jessy! I googled " alcoholic mind". I was trying to figure my brain out & it brought me here. A complete Godsend. I have 37 days & I know I would've relapsed if it wasn't for SR.
Don't give up. We're all on the same voyage, navigating unchartered territory. It's nice to not be alone.

Great job on your one week, Jessy! We're so glad you joined us. I didn't have anyone to discuss my problem with - until I found SR. I wasn't alone anymore, and that meant everything.
Congratulations on wanting a new and better life for yourself.
