The Big Book covers most of those topics and is a lot quicker read.....

I would suggest reading a book called "The 7 habits of highly effective people" by Steven Covey
I think it would change your outlook on life and help raise your chin.
Don't feel victimized. The person did nothing wrong or to you.
Only you can allow it to affect you. Try learning from the experience and become stronger. Also take a closer look at the idea that won in this case. It might not be so bad.
