walked like a zombie
and the brain was just not
there.

So sick without
the killer drug that made
my mind go blank.

The drug was so intense it
made my body like a
large rubber band.

Opiates was my drug of
choice for a lot of years.
38 years of my life wasted

I worked, lived and walked
only to live with a buzz.

I can now see I wasn't happy
at all, I was a just a number
in the world of drugs.

Four years and 13 days clean
all at one day at a time.

I now have more then I have ever
dreamed.

I told my wife the other day, it
is time to stop dressing like a
kid maturing more everyday

Getting rid of my old concert
shirt where there are memories
of time I got wasted and barely
remember the band.

Remolding my office started
taking away tons
of old pictures that reminded
me of my old ways.
