Me too. Until I really took a look around, really gave it some thought. And kept waking up hungover every morning, unable to concentrate, feeling ill.

I lost a colleague last year to suicide, and that made me think about my alcoholism a lot harder. Then I found out that he frequented the very rooms I'm frequenting, and that's really hit home with me. His death affected so many people, myself included.

And now I don't have such a hard time relating to others in my mtg.

Its a stark reality how things can go so wrong so fast when alcohol is in the mix with living life.

This was quite shocking to me. This colleague went from high powered attorney, to being disbarred, to living on the streets, to dead. Took about 9 mos.

You should have seen everyone in the mtg when this person's name was mentioned. Everyone looked so down.

Unfortunately, the only thing that hasn't happened to me from your list is death. The other 6 items I have experienced due to my alcoholism. I hit rock bottom before I sought help and I definitely avoided the worst 'Yet' ever in doing so: death.

I used to have a nice long list of yets.

It's a bit shorter than it used to be.
