25 years ago I had a problem relating IN to the people in the AA meetings because I had "not yet" had those bad things happen to me. I lost a colleague last year to suicide, and that made me think about my alcoholism a lot harder. Then I found out that he frequented the very rooms I'm frequenting, and that's really hit home with me. His death affected so many people, myself included. And now I don't have such a hard time relating to others in my mtg. |
Its a stark reality how things can go so wrong so fast when alcohol is in the mix with living life. |

Unfortunately, the only thing that hasn't happened to me from your list is death. The other 6 items I have experienced due to my alcoholism. I hit rock bottom before I sought help and I definitely avoided the worst 'Yet' ever in doing so: death. |
I used to have a nice long list of yets. It's a bit shorter than it used to be. |
