Friday Day 5
Friday Day 5
Just wanted to share some positive things with you!
Its Friday, day 5. I feel exactly the same as day 2,3,4 very low.
But I was strong enough to manage my first 2 challenges.
1. My friend wanted to come on weekend and as always eat out first and then get drunk in the evening. I just made an excuse that Im busy this weekend. So he insisted kindly to come over anyway and bring drinks. I just said no thanks.
2. Today I was lunching with my colleagues at the local pub. Two of them had a pint of beer. Smell was everywhere. I just concentrated on my meal.
Did not even think about the beer.
2 challenges completed. How many more will come...

Good for you! And congratulations on day five.
The challenges will never end, it's how you handle them is what matteres. I admire your tenacity in dealing so well with drinking situations being so early in sobrity.
After a while, you'll not be tempted when whese situations arise. You'll gain a new understanding that to drink, is to die. And it is a matter of life and death.
Get some support from non drinkers, do whatever it takes to stay sober. Become a hermit for awhile so you're not tempted.
I'm proud of you for how you dealt with possible drinking scenarios. That's great. Keep at it, my friend.
Best to you.

thank you!
Yes for me is to quit or drown in this poison. Im glad I have no parties planned for tomorrow. So a little easier.
I will go to the supermarket early tomorrow when family people do their shopping rather than in the evening when all hangover people start to appear.
Will fill my basket with healthy super foods! Before I used to take trolley cause booze was to heavy to carry.
thank you!

Good for you healthyfood. There will be lots more challenges to come but each time you get through it you'll be very proud of yourself.
After work everyone went for a quick drink in the pub and I went and had a soft drink, last week I was ok doing this but for some reason I felt like I really wanted to drink. I
left early and cried when i got home. Crying for a bit is much better than drinking!
I wish you so much luck in ur journey, I really relate to ur posts

I think you cried because you felt restricted from doing what you were used to do.
But the bottle will be empty and then restart will harder than staying off it.
Be strong and we will get there!!!

Great job Healthyfood. Those first days are very hard, our emotions are so raw.
Jeans - I cried too in the beginning. I think it is a grieving process we go through. We're letting go of a whole way of life. Even if it was a sick way to live, it was all we knew for a long time.
It gets so much better as you go along - the anxiety will ease up. You are doing great, so proud of you.

Im glad you are feeling better.
Today is day 6 and I feel exactly the same as on 2,3,4,5. And to be honest Im starting to ignore it, because I would rather be bored and low, than happy and drunk!
Im craving green salad for the past few days! Got the whole bag of it! YUM
