Day 1
So I drank double my usual last night...woke up with a horrible headache and head fog. I don't like feeling that way. I was clammy. Drank a bunch of water, ate some chicken soup. I felt bad about not being able to give my toddler the amount of attention he deserved. My hubby took care of him all morning. I don't want to be the drunk mom who can't take care of her kid! The fogginess went away mid afternoon. I feel a little jittery/anxious. I hope I can get a full night's sleep.

Goood for you! I have a toddler too... tell me about yours? And keep posting! Today I cut my drinking in half, and I plan to half it again tomorrow, then quit on Tuesday... new month, new life. Trying to avoid withdrawal.

Thank you for the ugly reminder of the mornings I dont miss. I hope you start your sober journey, and dont worry about the sleep. No one died from lack of it, but do of addiction all the time.

Anxiety is hitting hard now...I have a 2 yo boy. Part of what drove me to drink was stress over his health...he has a low immunity. We are at the pedi several times a month. I think being bored at night also led me to drinking. One drink leads to 5 or 6. Just praying I can make it through the next few days.
Orbea - I'm sorry for the health issues your son has. I did the same thing - numbed myself so I didn't feel the concern & worry. It doesn't work, though. Facing reality with a clear head actually makes things easier - being foggy & hungover is nothing but misery. Glad you are here with us - we know you can heal & have a better life.
