Hi, My Name is Orbea...
...and I am an alcoholic.
There. I said it.
Not quite sure how I allowed myself to become that way...I used to be very healthy. I was involved in ultraendurance sports. Now I am super fat, lazy and drink too much wine. I miss the old me.
How you doin?

Welcom Orbea, I think alot of us can relate to "how did I get to this point" I know I can. Welcome to SR its a great board for support
(((Orbea))) - Welcome to SR!! I think a lot of us can identify with "I miss the old me", but the good news is, with recovery, we can become even BETTER than the old us (or at least I did). You're among friends, glad you are here.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Welcome to SR Orbea
I certainly identify with thinking 'how did I get here'...now that I can look back it was all fairly inevitable...but it seemed very sudden at the time...
you'll find a lot of support here - welcome

Thanks for the warm welcome! I quit drinking in the fall...I was 6 days sober and then hubby bought me wine. Ummm maybe this time I should let him know I am stopping. I don't think he knows how much I can pound down.

If you are anything like I was...That would be a World Cruise...Three laps around. Welcome to the site...Rule number one....Don't pick up....Rule number two....Don't forget Rule number one.
Hi Orbea!
It takes courage to admit our problem and reach out for support - so here's to you for doing that!
Things really will get better. I never thought I'd manage to stop drinking but coming here every day gave me the support and inspiration I needed. Make yourself at home - it's great to have you!

Welcome Orbea.
It does amaze me how far we can let our lives get away through the bottle. I was so driven, in shape, motivated until I started drinking and using drugs. What the heck happened to that person. I became someone who I always vowed I didn't want to become and then some.
Now, I want to become the person I used to be again. Takes awhile to get there because of the years of damage, but we can do it with lots of help, from places like this.
God bless.

Yah...there's that. Luckily he doesn't drink. So I once thought hurray more for me! Anyhoo...this past month he's been out of work. Not laid off or unemployed. Poor guy locked himself inthe restroom last month and had a nervous breakdown. On medical leave. He's super stressed out. I'm afraid to stress him out more.
