Why I love you
Why I love you
Ok folks on SR, we're a mixed bag of fruit but all pretty fruity nonetheless. Some things have come to my attention that I must point out, you all deserve what I'm going to say:...........
1) You are the sweetest, most genuine and caring people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting.
2) The past 2 months have brought me immense pleasure and learning, it has made me want to give back in return, you have given me strength and thought me humility.
3) Despite not really believing in God, you've restored my faith in humanity, if we could govern a country, I'm pretty sure it would be a very happy and peaceful place.
4) When I first started on SR, you all made me sad, now I realize we all have problem on the surface, there is a wonderful beauty underneath.
5) I love making lists.
6) I've a very dry humor.
7) I really meant 1-4.
Thank you for all your help and do me a favor, do one kind deed today for someone,
love, Pangur

Awesome post pangur. I say it all the time, this is an incredible place.
My AA meetings are very important, but SR is just as, if not more important to me in sobriety and in life.
I think it would be great if we all could have an SR reunion once a year somewhere. I would love to meet everybody and give them a huge hug!
Thanks pangur.
God bless,.

What a lovely thread. I agree with you Pangur. I've been on so many sites where people disagree on things and end up arguing, calling names and just generally turning nasty. One here, even if people disagree it is with respect and decency. I've only been here for 3 weeks but it seems a really decent place full of decent, reasonable, understanding people. SR for Government!
Thank you Pangur. I always thought it was amazing - so many people from all over the world, joining together to fight their addiction. What a world we would have if the same attitude prevailed outside of these forums.
@ Pangur, and all of you. So true what you posted!
This place does seem rather unique in the online world of bitchiness and insults, it's so refreshing to log on here and know there are like-minded people who can all support one another. So much so that it actually goes beyond the initial reason I joined, like us all; quitting the demon drink.
Yes, we are from all over the place, and from different walks of life but the mutual respect is fantastic! It's a pleasure to be here and long may it continue.

I agree Pangur,
Jocata I like my AA meetings but because of my location I can,t make many, this site has been literally a lifesaver. because of the number and range of people not in spite of it, I seem to be able to connect with some written wisdom that I needed at the right time.
love you to

Right back at you, pangur! That was a special post!
I love SR too.......So many people here have touched my heart and gotten me through some rough days. And to see another alcoholic begin their journey towards a better life - PRICELESS!

the post wasn't looking for approval, but you already know that. I'm very isolated right now, in many ways, not just geographical. I'm in the middle of a bout of very nasty depression. The diversity on SR is wonderful, we're all different yet truly honest about how human (messed up) we are, it's the only place where I feel safe being myself. We all try our best on this site, sometimes we mess things up, but it's never the intention, we reflect on our mistakes and make amends. Recently I thank God that I'm such a mess, I found a community of people that will always love me and give me joy, if I wasn't this way, I would be lost in the darkness of normality. SR is my drug of choice, I'm hooked. (I'm also crying like a big sissy, but that will pass)
