do you EVER recover from alcohol withdrawal / kindling?
Hello Brian and welcome.
You really can enjoy yourself absolutely anywhere without alcohol once you get used to it. I wouldn't advise going places where alcohol is center stage in early sobriety, just to many triggers for me. But you can't avoid it altogether either, unless your a hermit(no offense to the hermits, just sayin).
Keep coming back to SR. This is good stuff.
God bless.

Wow these are all really inspiring, hope everyone's recovery is going well!
I was thinking of quitting for a while, but what really woke me up and gave me inspiration to set things in motion was the one time I was offered to use with some friends, but I declined. I just wasn't feeling it that day, I hadn't REALLY decided to quit yet. But after they used, I just sort of sat there and watched the effects that the drug had on them. All I could keep thinking was "Wow, is THIS really what happens to ME when I use?" They both just looked so useless.
I guess thats really what got the message out there for me. God bless all and good luck!
