Just want to share something

I was hanging around the house the other day and my kids said "let's watch Thor". I said "we've already seen Thor" but then I tried to recall the movie, I had seen it twice, but was drunk both times. Same thing with the new transformer movies, the new star trek, and lost goes on. I spent so much of my free time with my friend booze that I have missed out on a lot, this includes events with my kids and family. I'm 20ish days sober now. And with this last weekend, for the first time in years I don't want a drink, and I am thrilled. (I was starting to think the desire to drink would never go away). I'm sure it will return, but for now, I'm gonna savor the flavor
Thanks for helping me, for caring, and the support.

Hang onto that good moment with everything you have, dorito. There can be so many more if you just stay on the right path!

The newest star trek is great, as long as you don't know too much about astrophysics. Enjoy watching it for the first time again!

I love all these "firsts."

Excellent. Once you start getting these little tastes of what sobriety feels like, it's wonderful, isn't it? Being present for your kids, being able to watch a movie and remember it, go to bed clear-headed, wake up without a hangover .... the list goes on and on. And it keeps getting better. So happy for you!
