Good job. I am not an alcoholic myself, but I am the daugher, sister, and wife of alcohoics/addicts. So, I just want to send you encouragement. Keep it ONE DAY AT A TIME. Do what you can today. Hope you feel better soon. I have often found that pretty much anyone I know in recovery says the first year is the hardest. Keep your head up.

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY, TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE; COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN; AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

37 days is great soberbrah...in what ways is your life pathetic? Personal growth in recovery takes time IMO so just because you quit drinking doesn't mean things will be great. I am only 8 days in this time around and devoted today to cleaning up the mess of bills I've created while drinking. Pathetic is my ease of credit card use while intoxicated, but my life isn't. I hope you feel better soon

it is abnormal for the addict to not drink or use drugs. so, 37 consecutive days without a drink or drug is not pathetic, it's called WINNING. you'll have the opportunity to repair whatever you think is making your life pathetic if you don't drink.

How's drinking the solution?

Well turn off the tube and spend that time working on the other two issues. Drinking is certainly not going to get you a job or improve your relationships.

No it won't....Don't give up your 37 days...Just to make the problem worse....Take a deep breath and think about it....In what ways can drinking make it better...And don't give me that anguish Baloney.

That does suck, but it's all within your power to change. You have time to invest in those things now that you're not drinking.

Only until you have to get sober again.

It'll prolong the anguish. You're not where you want to be—but you are 37 days closer to it. Keep moving forward, SB.

Get off the couch and go to a meeting...Meet some new friends...At least you have a job...Get out of the self pity mode....And start working on a new life. I think you are worth it.

keep going sober. today is just a bad day. think of today combined with a hangover/binge..i bet it would amplify the "situation"

and as said above drinking will not improve your relationship or job situation! never did mine!

hang in there, please 37 days is awesome! don't screw it up..just shoot for ONE MORE DAY!

Hey soberbrah, at least you're here on this website posting. That means a part of you knows drinking is not the answer. Did you get 37 days sober by yourself?

by virtue of you posting here at least part of you knows that what you're saying is total ********. what is your support like? are you doing this alone? i guarantee you there are people in your town that understand and would love to help you. i felt like you when i first got sober. i was fat, broke, hated my job, and hated myself. the people in aa and na loved me until i could love myself. sounds cliche but damn if it wasn't true. but i had to get off my pity pot and start taking some action to do something different with my days and nights.

I'm feeling like life kinda sucks myself.
But it would be even worse if I started drinking.
If there were no bad days, we wouldn't realize it when the good ones come around.
Hang in.

Hey it might feel like it sucks right now but look at what you have achieved this far.
3 weeks ago my life could not of been any worse . I am getting there . We are all here for you . You stopped drinking for a reason , try and hold on to that reason.
I know this is such a cliche but time heals. We are all here to support you and to be supported. Please remember your not on your own . A. xa
