Oh how much of a changed person I am,I hope you are all well? I post little as its just not in my thought process anymore
Will certainly post on 8 years in a few months.
Grind it out,you have to get through the early days otherwise you keep having to go the the yukky early days. Peace.

I thought you were being a bit harsh on yourself in that first post. I’m sure we all had that feeling that drinking comes before everything.

Thanks for still posting after so many years sober. I’m guessing the original post was your very first post here, so it’s brilliant you stuck at it.

Glad things worked out for your daughter too. I’m sure you can take a lot of credit there.

Well done on 8 years! I was at the height of my addiction at that time (2012) so I always feel a connection when people mention that time period.

Your story is amazing DD. I am living in Day 53 here and it really helps us newbies to hear from you long-term sober vets. Your first post was so hard for me to read because I did versions of that so many times. I don't want to forget those times but I hope the guilt and shame abates over time. Thank you so much for posting on your 8 year mark. Wow. I cannot even get my head around 8 years.

Was same for me,if 10 years ago you said to me you are never going to drink again oh boy I would have laughed my head off at the thought of no booze again, now I cannot imagine the drudgery of having to do it again, you gotta grind it out through the tough days. Play the tape forward it always delivers the same ****, yes being sober can sometimes feel like **** but hey that’s normal you don’t feel good everyday, that’s life !

Never go back no matter how hard you may find it in early day’s,because you will have to go through the early days yet again

Not drinking AlcoHELL is simply liberating, it buys time.
