Nervous for results....

So, I went to one of my drs. today and got some blood work done, including a hepatitis panel. A bit nervous about what the results will be. This will be my 5th night completely sober. The first two nights I cut back to just 1 glass of wine; so about a week of kicking the habit. I was drinking up to a pint of liquor a night... I've been doing that for years now. My last liver test came back normal about a year ago. I hope I am as lucky this time.

Tomorrow I go to my general dr. I have a swollen lymph node in my neck. So, of course I am worrying about that. Hopefully I'm just fighting off some kinda virus or something. My anxiety has been through the roof. My daughter had to have surgery under GA which threw me into a panic a few weeks ago, and then immediately after I have quit drinking, which has also sent my body into panic mode.

Anyway, I will find out info on my blood test tomorrow and see the dr. about my swollen gland so.....wish me luck : )

Well, my liver enzymes came back normal, as did the rest of my blood panel test (except I am deficient in vitamin D...no biggie). That's good news.

I went for my swollen gland in my neck and turns out I have a goutier (enlarged thyroid). Ugh. So I had some additional blood work done today that specifically checks counts regarding my thyroid. I also went to get an ultrasound of my neck. Of course I was paranoid. The sonogram tech said, "Let's put it this way: I'm not your doctor, but if I was overly concerned about what I see, I would be calling him now and wouldn't send you home. And I'm sending you home." So, I will hear the results about this thyroid mess hopefully by Friday. I actually read that alcohol and alcohol withdrawal can effect the thyroid.... I bet this is also a good reason why I've gained 25 pounds in 3 years.

Great news, Lisa! I have an abnormally-shaped thyroid as well. Fortunately after the ultrasound and some further testing, it turned out to be nothing to worry about.

Hang in there!

Waiting on tests can be pretty unerving. So good to hear you've gotten good news.

Great job on staying sober!!

God bless.
