Thanks for having me.

This community of people seems to be exactly what i need to succeed in my sobriety. I am a Otr truck driver and i spend lots of time alone on the road and most of the time its extremely difficult to find and attend meetings around the country...I just want to say thanks to all, this type of support is awesome.

Hey, King. there are plenty of online meetings. Have you tried those out? I'm overseas and have formed a bond with several others in recovery who utilize Skype AA meetings.

Good luck.

Welcome kingman! It's great you found us. The support of the people here is what brought me through some very dark days. I gave up a life long drinking habit, and I never felt alone after I found this place. We're here to support and help - here's to a wonderful new year for you.

Welcome, Kingman!

That's what's great about SR, it's always available 24/7. For me it's a good compliment to AA, so I would encourage you to continue to be involved in AA. Attending meetings in many different towns across the country sounds kinda interesting.

Welcome kingman,
I hope http://www.xa-speakers.org/ comes back online soon, I miss being able to go there and hear the speakers of AA, they really helped me in my early days of withdrawl. I was a truck driver back in the 90s, I drank relatively 'normal' for most of that time but towards 2000 the drink took over my life and I could no longer do the job physically and mentally \ all I wanted to do was get drunk every day and just barely get by. I am regaining abilities and retraining myself a little at a time, wish to get back out into the working world this year. Try asking on the CB for a friend of Bill W..... Not sure if it'll work but it's worth a try.
Wish you the best.
