Hey Petewill - I was having some of the same feelings. Like from 12/26 until last night like I was preparing myself for a relapse or something but I didn't - feels good and yes a bit hopeful...

Well done on a sober NYE -

I decided to spend it at home alone as I knew there would be drugs available at any party I would have attended.

The last few years on Jan 1st I would still be taking drugs and spending a fortune .

Congrats Pete,
Glad you are seeing that "It wasn't that bad after all."
It IS all in our head once we get the detox licked, and we have to get it out of there too. I had a great little home group too that kept me going along with SR in my first three months of sobriety. Glad you are making it too.

Ovrock,

You have a special way of speaking from the heart, and it was obvious you were having a bad time these last few days. What a relief it was to read that you stayed sober on New Years!!!!! Hey, if you can do it during the holiday era, you are stronger than you know. Stay strong, and congratulations!!!! Happy post....I love it!
