I really hope you prove me wrong. I know I wouldn't.

Why do you have to take a breath test every morning? Did you got caught with drinking on the job?

DisplacedGRITS 01-01-2012 02:21 AM

Stay strong, comanchee.

Good morning everyone, I MADE IT!!! I went in there with the firm resolution not to drink and I didn't. Was it tough at times seeing everyone around me drinking and loosening up while I felt a bit stiff and awkward? Yes.

Was I happy at the end of the night when I saw people around me throwing up, getting into altercations with cops, etc? Hell yes :)

I was fired from a job in 2010 from this hospital because I tested positive for cocaine. In order to be able to come back on board, I had to agree to be subject to a temporary monitoring period, where I have to be breathalyzed every morning and subject to random drug and alcohol urine screens. I personally think the breathalyzer every morning is over the top, I was never a daily drinker or someone who came to work drunk, but I wasn't about to argue with them. I could really use this job and I just wanted to get my foot in the door. Anyway, I think it is a good humbling experience for me. Just grateful to be able to have a job at all right now!

Knowing that I would be accountable to this board in the morning helped too, SR is great

Glad you made it. Next year will be different in that you likely won't want to be around drunks much at all, if ever. And being out on the roads with all the drunks is not a crap shoot I enjoy any more.
