PTSD isn't end
PTSD isn't end
Giving in is. My Viet vet buddy took up drinking/drugs again, now he isn't anything but gone. Different kind of MIA. Just sent a donation in the name of SR. Still here still clear.
I know from first hand experience how hard it is to watch a friend go off the rails. I don't know there's too many things that make us feel more helpless or impotent.
I also lost an uncle due to PTSD in Vietnam - he fought that war over in his mind for 20 more years after he came back.
It's right and proper to be sad, I think however uncomfortable....but what we can do is pray for those we love, be glad they've found peace now, and continue to take care of ourselves - we still have our journey to make Fitz.
I know your friend had a good buddy in you, Fitz - many blessings to you

(((Fitz))) - prayers for you and your friend. I have some PTSD, but I was blessed to have several people, here on SR, who knew about it and offered their ES&H.
It is hard to see a friend spiral down, but I agree - we can feel sad, but we don't have to join them.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
