60 Days on the 12/29

Made it through Christmas in sober style. I did have to double up on my meetinzgs and lean on my sponsor to get me through this period. It's been especially hard this past couple weeks due to my diagnosis of a GI infection which is quite painful. My PCP knows that I am in recovery and sent me home with a minimal amount of pain medication which I promptly turned over to my wife since I don't trust myself to dole them out myself. I also told my sponsor and as many people in the program as possible aobout what I have been going through (GI wise). This was just a bit of extra security for me. I have an appt. with a GI specialist tomorrow to get to the bottom of things as my PCP has done all the tests that she can do. Hopefully the GI issue is something that can be managed throuhg a diet change. I am optmistic, but scared at the same time as to what the specialist will find. At any rate, I am glad I didn't have to drink over this issue. Thanks for my clean time.

Congratulations on a sober Christmas. In my opinion, it's a wise AA member who increases meeting attendance and sponsor contact prior to a stressful time.

Thanks all for the congrats and warm wishes. Went to the GI clinic this morning, they were on the ball! They scheduled me a CT scan for this evening, and I'm having another procedure tomorrow morning. Glad they were able to get me in and get er done...there's nothing worse than waiting around. My PCP was instrumental in pushing the timeline also, Jan 1 my deductible starts over again...so I feel blessed that I'm getting it done before then...so there is a bit of a silver lining in all this. We'll get the whole pic from the CT Scan/tomorrow's procedure and I'll deal with what comes. At least I'll know what I'm up against

(((cascade))) - Congratulations on 60 days!! I'm glad you've got good doctors working to find out what the problem is, and pray that it's something that can be helped with dietary changes.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
