Give yourself advice.
I want to make an interesting thread that I hope gathers attention. I want to see what replies we get here
Seeing yourself today, either early / late sobriety or still drinking, what advice would you give yourself if you could meet and talk to yourself from the past before you started drinking?

Nice thread!
I can think of couple:
"You know that first one is going to ruin you"
"Why don't you go practice instead?"
"Your reputation is quickly going down the drain"
"Is this the legacy you gonna leave for your daughter?"
"You could really use that money on something more important, or save it"

Unfortunately, I was stubborn enough that if I had given myself advice I wouldn't have taken it. But it may have gone something like this: You have a path to follow in your life. It will curve, it will be uphill and you may come to a dead end once in awhile. Dealing with your life will be so much easier without obstacles that hinder your perception of how you 'think' it should be. Let it be and follow your heart. And under no circumstance, alter your thinking, state of mind or befall into a web of deceipt.

I would not have had the maturity to understand that advice before I started drinking, but I sure wish I would have heard those words and heeded them, as it is truly what happened to me.
