Headache in the morning. Always been in and out. Today 2 weeks again. Why would I wake up every day with a headache and symptoms of a hangover? Not drinking, not taking any med's. When I was drinking I never got headaches or very much of a hang over. truly weird. |
I had terrible headaches the first couple of months of being sober. I didn't think much of it; figured it was part of the withdrawal process and not having my brain pickled in alcohol. If you are concerned, you should see your doctor and make sure it not anything serious. |
Yes to the doctor visit, but: I believe this and a number of other weird head-sensations in early sobriety are evidence of neural pathways healing. For me they were twinges, and were often accompanied with strange memories, long-ago or early childhood memories, which I was not aware of ever having had before. The brain is a mysterious and wonderful organ, and maybe its healing is what you are experiencing. Not a doctor, not much of an expert in anything physiological, so take this with a grain of salt. And make sure to stay hydrated as your kidneys are also mending and they can become hyperactive during this process, so your headache might be dehydration. |
I had horrible headaches the first month but in the evenings. Now they are tapering off but I still get them - had a bad one last night. Hang in there - it gets better |
i get headaches |
Welcome back HF :) I remember having headaches in early recovery too - but there are many causes of headache,s and it could be anything really. I can get a headache if I drink too much caffeine and not enough water in a day, for example. See your Dr if you're concerned :) good to see you back - congratulations on 2 weeks :) D |
