Day 30
Day 30
Today is my 30-day sobriety birthday. I feel proud of myself, and rather amazed. Tonight I am going to the weekly women's meeting I've been going to for the past month, to get my 30-day chip. I credit that group and this site for helping me stay sober for more days than I was ever able to make it on my own. Thank you, SR!!
I bought myself a ring that has the shape of a woman's head woven in gold. To me it looks like a goddess. I have been trying to work on my concept of my own higher power. This is hard for me but for the first time in a meeting I went to yesterday I had a sense of some kind of personal spiritual feeling... usually I use my conscience, the better version of me who I know is in there and who wants to do the right thing and live a good life. So I ask the universe/destiny/my own little personal space in life to watch over me and give me strength to do the right thing and not drink etc. I am not sure I have the concept down but I'm trying, and the point of the ring is to remind me to treasure my sober days and keep moving forward, and to try to find and keep my own spirituality.

Great job Pigails,
I now realize how important the spiritual change is in our recovery. I had a small angel in a glass dome on my desk which I would rub now and then to remind me that a HP is working for me if I allow it. Something tangible to remind me of the intangible.
You sound in great spirits
