Just received an angry phone call, customer ripped me apart
I received a phone call a couple hours ago from any angry customer. She totally ripped me apart. I haven't felt that crappy in a LONG time. It's amazing how bad a complete stranger can make you feel in such a short amount of time.
I'm feeling better now, though still a little gunshy when I pick up the phone this afternoon. But, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. At least these sort of phone calls are somewhat uncommon. Anyone else deal with needlessly, ridiculously angry customers?

I have and have actually gotten upset to the point of tears over it....as I have aged, I have learned it's about them....sad they have to display anger that way--dumping it on you! Try not to give them the power to change your mood.
When you're working with the public it hard not to take problems personally. That is a huge undertaking to continue your conversation, doing what's best for the customer AND trying to keep your sanity.
I had plumbing company. Customers that come home from work at 5pm and have water spewing from leaking pipes are not happy and expect it fixed -it has now become MY problem. The anger customers hold is vented at anyone convenient. I had learned alot of sympathy and empathy and try to sit back and really feel how this has affected the customers life.
But, OTOH, then you get the whackos that no matter what you say YOU ARE WRONG! LOL
I had a lady yesterday at my job that was not a happy customer. Luckily, I hadn't been the one that took care of her and the employee that had had quite a surprise waiting for him in the parking lot when he returned from lunch!! Not a good day.
