Hello Class of December!
I wish all of you the best of luck in your recovery! Remember to stay positive and remain focused on your goal of sobriety. The positivity part plays a critical role in sobriety because in early sobriety you're possibly going to "beat yourself up" over quitting alcohol because it's played such a big role in your life for "solving" problems. Drink plenty of fluids, I prefer water, but the idea here is to replenish what you have been lacking during your alcoholism.
You're going to feel tired, which is going to be frustrating but it's part of recovery. Basically your body is repairing itself of all the damage that you've been doing over the years and that takes time and energy.
Replace negatives with positives! Start going for walks and start making better meal decisions..Spend time with your family, get projects done you've been putting off, read a book..etc. A walk is going to clear your mind and help your body become healthier and it really improves your mood.
Best of luck to you Decembers! .

Congrats to a sober journey! It's a wild ride and it beats waking up with a hangover! Journal, write up a routine for daily living, make a list of Things to Do. Eat & sleep as regularly as possible (a goal).
I wish you all the best in staying stopped!
Love from the Class of May, 2011!

thanks Josh - I am sending the Berst back! :-)
fragrantrose - I shake my head at some of the mess-ups. Can't make any sense of it at all.
It's frustrating, heartbreaking, sad, all of it. :-/
But we're going to beat this. All of us, together. I know we can. I have faith. I believe in us.
Collectively, holding our wee cyber hands, I believe we can kick buns sweetie :-)

Many times I'd find I'd go through periods of not drinking much, no bad consequences etc...but inevitably return to 'full on' drinking.
Maybe we're not really in control at all - even in those good times?
Perhaps sometimes for whatever reason, we just get a lucky break?
I think it's better to accept those full on drinking moments are the real face of our drinking - they're the real default position - not the handful of times we somehow manage to drink 'genteely'.

thanks Dee for the welcome.
My whole body is a rock as I type.
Petrified.
scared to death.
I know I'll check in daily. I read HEAPS and am thankfully good with who is doing what
and who is having a hard time.
Now - if only I can figure out the message system on here!
arghhh
grrr
:-D
