60 Days !!!

This is the longest without drinking that I have gone in 18 years. Oh my goodness. I will try to find a chip meeting to go to because I have never had a 60 day chip (does one even exist?). I have gotten a 30 day chip on two separate occasions in my life.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you quit drinking you still feel bla? That is what happened to me this time. I have quit for a period of 30 days in the past and two times I felt like I had quit drinking but was still stuck mentally. That's what happened to me this time too. I have seen a few people at aa meetings like this as well, like we just didn't ever really snap out of it. It's like we can't fully wake back up or something. Kind of sad really.

Anyway, I started taking lecithin 3 days ago, it has a lot of choline and inositol, and I have to say it has made me feel a lot better mentally. I also ordered some Piracetam, a supposed nootropic, online to help combat this lingering bla feeling. I will let you know if Piracetam helps even more. Just the lecithin alone is have a really positive impact.

I have committed to another month of sobriety, so 90 days is just one more month away. It is just really difficult for me to imagine the rest of my life sober. I guess there are some really ingrained patterns of drinking. I will focus on rethinking my coping mechanisms, and hopefully the Piracetam helps. Does anyone else have any experience with this sort of thing?

Cuyootoo,

Congratulations on your 60 days!!!!! That is a big benchmark! :)

I am at almost four months, and still often feel blah. I think I will look into non-bigPharma possibilties (herbs, supplements). Thanks for the information.

Do something nice for yourself this weekend!!!

Congrats! And they most certainly do have a 2 month chip :)

Congrats on 60 days!! Im a couple of days behind you. What I have found really works wonders is a little bit of exercise and eating really healthy stuff. On days that I eat processed junk and bad food, I have that overall feeling of "blah". On days I eat lots of vegis (I often juice vegis and fruits as well), my entire day is better, as well as overall outlook on things!

60 days that is amazing 54 more to go! What is a chip?

60 days is great.

Another 30 will be better. Maybe just start thinking of yourself as a non-drinker. It's helped with me the past week or so. Just a different point if view.

You're doing great.

It's a coin they give out at AA meetings for various lengths of sobriety.

GO YOU! I understand the bla vanilla feeling with sobriety. I don't know what any of those things/suppliments? You mentioned. I have had bad anxiety trying herb type items in the past so I stick to good old medicine. LOL

I go to a meeting where they give out monthly chips. Others only 90 then a year. I think monthly is better. I remember getting to day 90 and drinking! I decided I should "celebrate." HA! I celebrated by giving myself a nice big arse hang over and going back to AA the next day feeling like a pile of steamy poop! LOL But I'm human, what can I say. :) Have no idea where I'm going with this!

Congrats!
