Hot Chocolate!

Tis the season!

There's no better way to celebrate the season! Pass on the eggnog and have another round of hot chocolate! Hell...throw in some marshmallows! You're saving calories by steering clear of the beer as it is. So drink it until you pass out from coziness without worries of texting your ex or falling asleep on a bar!

Just for some smiles! Been a while since I posted and hope everyone is doing well.

A near-daily occurrence:

me: "Venti white chocolate mocha please."

barrista: "whipped cream?"

me: "but of course."

Because I can, now that I've cut out about 2000 calories worth of beer each day.

Tazo Chai Tea (in a carton) 1/2, then 1/2 vanilla soy milk. Put over ice or heat up. That is my "new white wine"!

Linz was kind enough to share her hot chocolate recipe with me. Hope she doesn't mind me sharing it with you all...

It's called a mayan hot chocolate.
Get some:
1. sticks of cinnamon
2. ground cayenne pepper
3. ground nutmeg
4. vanilla powder or vanilla beans to ground them

Heat your (whole) milk in a pan, but don't let it boil. Scrape out any excess flaky crap that inevitebly appears after the milk is finished heating.
Pour the warm milk over the DARK chocolate powder, leave room at the top so you can stir without it spilling over.
Add the spices, stir vigorously, add whip cream and chocolate sauce if you want, put the cinnamon sticks in there and stir it a bit with them.
Then drink it
And wake up hangover-free

Have a good day.

Hot cocoa for the win, although I DO have to think about the calories etc. I make mine with boiling water, cocoa powder, a spoonful of molasses (love the stuff, black strap for the win) a bit of vanilla and only use milk like you would in coffee.

Eggnog can be made or purchased booze free. And it makes a great "creamer" for coffee or cocoa to add a little holiday taste to our other beverages.
