Is it really a suprise?
Is it really a suprise?
Yep, you guessed it. I had a long binge, wanted to think I can control it, the same old bull ****. Holidays were spent drunk, and I am back on day one. I already tapered off, so I supposed the physical withdrawal wont really be an issue this time. Anyway, I am back here, where I need to be. There is a great deal of support on this forum and I missed you guys. Anyway, just wanted to post. It has been WAY too long. Thanks.
Welcome back Dominica2, I had to come back a few times to get this thing right. In the end not picking up that first drink & living a day at a time helped me along with adding many tools to my tool box of recovery (including this site).
You can do this
Can I ask... have you been trying to stop drinking or moderate drinking?
All of the best with your recovery ~ NB

Hi Dominica,
Good to see you back. What have you learnt from this (other than moderate drinking doesn't work)? If we can take the learning from a slip, then we help prevent another one. Do you have much support?
I wish you all the best Dominica. You deserve much more than this addiction is giving you.

There is a site for moderating drinking
Moderation Management
It worked for me for about as long as I expected it to... 3 weeks or so. That's why I'm here. I pretty much ruined the holidays too. Luckily, Christmas is right around the corner. Another chance (THIS time) to do it right.

I was wondering where you went! I do read your post's being a 20 something myself... I feel your pain trying to make this change. My progress has been slow, but I'm getting there. Do you ever wish someone would just slap you in the back of the head and it would knock this crap right out of you! lol If only it were that easy! Good luck, and keep us posted!
