Hi again all.. It was very helpful reading all the posts here yesterday, so I'm hoping someone may have similiar experiences here to do with confidence.

A lot of things caused me to turn to drink but I think the main reason was to give myself confidence, as I could be more outgoing after a drink. I'm scared to death of going into social situations being sober, and I'm scared that I'm going to keep giving up. I'm such a shy person and no self belief. Has anyone else here struggled with this? And was there any thing you tried/did to overcome it and did it help?

I drank for similar reasons - but I found that whatever little confidence I used to garner from drinking was long since overtaken by embarrassment and mortification at the things I did or said drunk.

I'm still a shy guy now I'm sober - but s'ok.....I'm more comfortable and confident in myself with who I am now.

I have good friends and an awesome partner who accept me for who I am - I don't need to be anyone else.

Life is good
