Hello all. I have finally made the decision to end my drinking once and for all. I have tried a few times but I want this to be the last time. I want my life back.

Welcome ccxame!

Congratulations on making a decision to get sober! I remember my first post on this forum (almost 19 months ago), knowing I had to stop drinking but not wanting to at the same time, and being scared to death.

Now I can't imagine why I stayed with it for so long. It really does get better. Stick with us - keep reading and posting...... If we can do it, you can to!

(((ccxame))) - welcome to SR!! There are a lot of people here who have made the same decision, and it's nice being able to read/post/share what we have been or are going through, with people that "get" us.

I don't know how much you've been drinking, but I do recommend seeing a dr. and being honest. Alcohol withdrawals can be pretty bad, even fatal, so please be careful.

Good for you on your decision. It was the best one I ever made in my life. I hope you can quit and find the joy in life that I have. It is out there, just waiting for you.
