I feel like I had a good start to that this weekend, because I feel like telling two of my friends that I can't drink and that even if I have one drink it is a big deal, has been a good step.

Hi Seared, Are you feeling good about feeling how it would feel to tell them or feeling good about telling them? Sorry, I wasnt sure. Feeling good about something that you think would feel good is good but actually doing it & then feeling good is far better.

I completely understand about the telling of friends, I was quite shocked at the response I received from some heavy drinking friends (or should I say former drinking buddies/old thought to be friends) once they were convinced that I meant it & wasnt going to be drinking anymore. Its ok though as I found some new friends that understood & respected me & kept some that were in alignment with me & my recovery ;-)

My drinking buddies are angry. My friends ( well I've only told one so far) is very supportive. She's now texting me every day just to say hi. I love that GF and am very happy she's in my life.
